Buy Printer Cartridges for Less

By Jenny Morrison

Everyone can use some tips and tricks to save on printer ink because they are as necessary as water these days. Here are a bunch so we can all be experts and save ourselves a good chunk of change.

Every store from your local pharmacy to the grocery store sells computer and printer supplies, often at exorbitant prices. Wait for a sale. Department stores and office supply venues have great sales. When that happens, buy in bulk. Prices always climb.

Buying from the company that made your printer usually means high prices but it's also the most convenient. If you want to save, go to an office supply store when they have a sale.

Online auctions and stores usually offer the best prices, but watch out for those shipping fees because they can become a huge portion of the overall expenses.

If you buy online, make sure you wait for times when there are coupons and promo codes available for that store. Otherwise, you are paying more than you should and you will regret the purchase.

When a store wants to put on a sale, printers might be cheaper than buying just the ink. If you want to save, look for these deals and just install the new printer.

If you are only printing documents on standard paper, third-party inks are very economical. They may fade over time, but no worries if you are just printing draft documents.

Many people use two separate printers. One is used exclusively for documents, while the other is for photographs. Inks for photographs, even if you buy a third-party product, are more expensive.

I don't recommend those printer ink refill bottles because most people spill some when they try to refill and it becomes a very messy process. Do what works for you.

As with anything else, quality is critical so don't always look at the price when you shop for printer ink. - 29854
